This week, I’ve asked TPG’s director of content operations, Andrea Rotondo, to share her strategies for finding award flights, including the online tools she uses. It’s the perfect time of year to start planning your 2026 trips — especially since award availability typically opens up 11 months in advance in most cases.
Have a great weekend,
BK

Friends don't let friends hoard points and miles. A huge balance does no good until you book an award.
If you're sitting on a heap of loyalty currency, I’m here to encourage you to book something today.
Life is too short to wait for the perfect flight on the "right" aircraft at the lowest price anyone has ever seen. Instead, find an award to somewhere you've always wanted to go at a fair price. Then, continue to recheck your reservation and search for alternative routes. More often than not, you'll improve your booking when better options become available.
I outline my strategy to find award flights in this article — even if you've never searched for availability before. The more you search, the more intel you'll glean about sweet spot redemptions from your airports of choice.
Good luck with your search, and let us know what you book!
Safe travels,
Andrea

I've got an exclusive 40%-off deal for you
I've teamed up with my friends at ExpertFlyer — one of my favorite tools for frequent flyers — to give TPG readers an exclusive 40% off a Premium Yearly plan when you use promo code “TPG40“.
I've used ExpertFlyer for years to find upgrade space, set seat alerts and check flight availability that airlines don't make easy to see. It's helped me (and many TPG readers) score some amazing seats.
